His journey into the professional ranks began during high school when he showcased his roping skills and earned the title of Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association reserve champion in heeling. This early success was a testament to his dedication and talent, paving the way for his transition into the professional rodeo circuit. Since 2007, Coleman Proctor has looked to heeler and team roping partner Jake Long, a lifelong friend. However, in 2024, Coleman switched things up, teaming up with Logan Medlin as a heeler.

Coleman's career pinnacle came at the National Finals Rodeo, where he and Logan showcased their mastery of team roping. Their eighth appearance at the NFR was marked by a standout victory in Round 3, with a lightning-fast 3.7-second run that left audiences in awe.
